Typical Document Examination Applications

·        Is the document a forgery, if so was it forged by a particular person?

·        Which person of a particular group wrote an anonymous letter?

·        Did the doctor go back later and make a late entry in a medical chart?

·        What is the sequence of writing; the classic ‘chicken or the egg’ question?

·        Is there a question of the date of the signature?

·        Was there an attempted disguise of the writing, to be contested at a later date?

·        Was the signature of the signer of a will a guided hand or assisted hand?

·        Was the document typed on the same typewriter?

·        Are there latent obliterations or latent alterations?

·        Are the folds in the all the pages of the document consistent?

·        Does there appear to be inconsistencies in the number of staple holes?

·        Is the pages of the paper consistent with the weight, color, and age of other pages?

·        Are the photocopies made from the same photocopier?
